Welcome to the 118th week of My Sexy Saturday.
This week’s theme: Their Sexy Gaze
Please visit us at our new Author Central where
we’ll be sharing even more from our authors besides Saturday’s snippets. We’d
love to have each one of you there as we’re starting mid-November and hope to
bring you lots of fun and even some prizes on the way.
This week’s theme is Their Sexy Gaze. Have you ever seen a couple
who look so adoringly at each other? Makes you wonder just what they are
thinking? Are they thinking about the last time they made love or the
conversation they just had?
The point is that lovers have eyes only for each other. Sometimes
the gaze is loving, and sometimes not, but you always know they are a couple
destined to be together.
Sexy has nothing to do with looks or status or even wealth. It
doesn’t demand perfection and it isn’t pretentious but it does make us want to
read those books.
We know that everyone has their own idea of sexy and we all love
sexy!
(Set-up:
Monica has just been accosted by three members of the Colombian Cartel. They’re
leading her out of a building with pedestrians all around.)
On her left, the excited fan with
a football player’s build she’d encountered earlier slouched against the wall
with his head down and a smart phone in his hand. Only he wasn’t looking at the
black screen. He was staring directly at her.
Dizziness threatened to shake the
legs right out from under her. Now or
never. Without moving her head, Monica slanted her eyes toward the
ebony-haired giant, infusing all her fear into a single glance, begging him for
help.
Stranger-danger never looked so
good. The man shook back his sun-streaked raven hair, winked, and sent her a
tiny smile. Then, as though he hadn’t a care in the world, strolled up to them,
his eyes completely focused on her.
Oh shit! Did he
think she was coming on to him? On a normal day he’d be cute, but not her type.
The blond surfer with his lithe build was more her style. Monica hoped to God
the linebacker didn’t mistake her for a hooker with a pimp.
Beggars can’t be choosers. At
this point, she’d take whatever she could get.
His rapt attention never left her face, he completely ignored the
man standing next to her. It didn’t matter if the stranger stood over six feet
tall. He’d be stabbed and his innocent bystander blood would be on her
conscience.
