I have a prize for one lucky commenter at
the end of the blog hop. Details are below. And there are THREE grand prizes:
Now
what are those prizes?
1st Grand Prize: A Kindle Fire or Nook Tablet
2nd Grand Prize: A $50 Amazon or B&N Gift Card
3rd Grand Prize: The following Swag Pack!
RHYCIOUS
He’s a hero who I
fell in love with the moment he came alive on the page while I told his story.
Thank you, my
hero.
Yes, I admit your
body came off some random internet site. I altered you, a smidge here and a
smidge there, until you fit my character’s profile.
Then I found a
picture of your face, and did the same all over again.
The personality I
created for you is unique—one I’ve never written before. And doubt I’ll write
again. You are so tortured, misunderstood, and the demands placed on you are
simply unrealistic.
How can I ever
thank you, my hero?
Yes, I made you a
mythological being. One that’s larger than life. But again, you are unique and
ONE OF A KIND.
There is nobody else like you. The tragedies you suffered in your early days
would have brought a weaker man to his knees.
Again, my hero,
thank you.
And now your story is told — and a new story is being written in my next novel. The friend who always
had your back, the male everyone thinks is too confident, too handsome, has a terrible
secret. And it’s eating him alive.
Tell me about
when you read a book. Does it help to have a book’s cover image to jumpstart
your imagination?
Or does a mental image form the longer you read?
Or does a mental image form the longer you read?
If you're looking
for a book that will take you away to a mythic world that might exist…
If you love hot
guys with insatiable appetites who have a dash of vulnerability…
If you're looking
for a sensual read with the power to make you gasp…
Remedy Maker
Would be the
book for you.
I have a fabulous prize for one
lucky commenter at the end of the blog hop, so don't forget to leave your email address!

Happy Release Day Sheri! Love the way you described your hero :)
ReplyDeleteIn answer to your question, I usually form an image of the hero as the story is unfolding...so if there isn't a picture on the front cover that's okay :)
HAPPY SALES!
For me, the cover image doesn't particularly have any impact on the story itself. Sure it helps grab a buyer's attention, but when it comes to the story's hero, I develop an image in my head based on the content of the book with zero regard to the cover model. Each hero is unique, when romance cover models aren't always, so I use the old saying "don't judge a book by its cover".

Woo Hoo! Congrats! Rhy is absolutely a swoon-worthy hero! Love this story and love you!
ReplyDeleteI don't really take any notice of the front cover, but form my own image of the hero as I read the story.
ReplyDeleteHappy release day!
ReplyDeletebidelia78@yahoo.com
I love when an author has the hero or heroine on the front cover. If not I just use my own imagination. Congrats on your new release. Thanks for the giveaway.

Happy release day! So proud of you!!!
ReplyDeleteIf I don't know the author, the cover image can get me to read the blurb. Once I start reading the book, though, the cover image has nothing to do with how I imagine the hero.
ReplyDeleteWolphcall(at)bellsouth(dot)net
SUPER congrats on your new release!!!
ReplyDeleteits some times nice to have the hero on the cover so i know what they look like when i am reading!
ReplyDeleteparisfan_ca@yahoo.com

ReplyDeletedamianbloodstone@gmail.com
At times the cover images does jump start my image of the hero. :) Super huge congratulations to you and your new book, Sheri! Can't wait to read it!
ReplyDeleteI think like most people - the cover is the initial draw - but I prefer to fill in the blanks with reading to form images of each character in my head
ReplyDeleteglhince@gmail.com
love your books. i pretty much image my characters when i write.
ReplyDeletekintana002000@yahoo.com
Holy Hell, those pics and the excerpt were hot!
ReplyDeletemolly(dot)frenzel(at)gmail(dot)com
Ohh, goodies? Really? ;-) I loved your book. And not just because I had the pleasure of editing it. I really, really loved it. :-)
ReplyDeleteEven if the guy on the cover is hot as all get out I form a mental picture of the hero in my mind as I read. Thanks for the chance in your giveaway! Carin
ReplyDeletemawmom(at)gmail(dot)com
I love the covers, but as I read the book I get the image of hero and heroine. Thanks for doing the Hop!!
ReplyDeletegatormaryd(at)yahoo(dot)com
I am a cover junkie but I don't always picture the hero or heroine that's on the cover in my head.
ReplyDeletevampiremistress2010(at)gmail(dot)com
Definitely a mental image. Most of the time the cover image doesn't even look like the hero.
ReplyDeleteThe cover helps but when I read I add more to it usually. Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeletenatasha_donohoo_8 at hotmail dot com
The more I read, a mental image appears. Most of the time, my hero looks nothing like the cover photo or the author's idea of the hero. I like a book that takes me away. Yours sounds amazing!
ReplyDeletetccmp30@msn.com
K-ool post, my friend.
ReplyDeleteI loved Rhy from the start. Sexy he suuuuuure is.
I visualize my character's appearance and then I come up with their back story because that usually has a major affect on how they come across on the page.
brenda_dyer212@hotmail.com
THAT is a hell of a teaser !
ReplyDeleteThanks !
ptitpupuk at sky dot com
A cover helps, esp. if it's an author I am unfamiliar with. But usually, my mental image changes the character the further I get into the book. Some of my fav. covers don't clearly show their face.
ReplyDeletemodularmates(at)comcast(dot)net
Wow, some very eye-catching pictures.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your new release!
A cover helps me decide if I'm gonna get the book, but I really like to develop a picture of the hero as I read further in the book. <^_^>
ReplyDeleteThanks for being part of the hop and for the chance to win.
reneebennett35(at)yahoo(dot)com
A cover gets my attention but it's the blurb that ultimately makes me decide to read it. I usually develop my own image of the hero as I read, even forgetting the cover artist's interpretation.
ReplyDeletebituin76 AT hotmail DOT com
Like everyone else the cover is the first thing to catch my eye. But I have found that even though the cover and blurb get my attention, the book turns out not to be to my liking. Also the opposite is true too. After reading for so many years I tend not to "see" the hero or heroine. I just pay more attention to the dialogue and story. My imagination is not good enough to see the characters in my mind...LOL
ReplyDeletekoonie2888 at yahoo dot com
I love covers! I see the h/h in my mind, not as the cover shows, but a good cover is a plus!! Thanks for the hop!
ReplyDeletejennyrlowery@yahoo.com
I do love a well done cover and yours is mouth watering. But for me I usually imagine my hero as I reveal each new layer of his character.
ReplyDeleteDebdebss@yahoo.com
modern mythic. i like the ring of that.
ReplyDeletelena.grey.iam@gmail.com
Rhycious is very yummy, I love his name and the cover. Thx for giveaway.
ReplyDeleteblinkysthebest(AT)aol(DOT)com
MMMMM the covers are delicious! can't wait to read the books
ReplyDeletecms72023(at)gmail(dot)com
holy hot covers!! lol...cant wait to read the books and Love a good hero
ReplyDeleteNaneemcgee@aol.com
gotta love a good hero!
ReplyDeletesounds like a fun one, thanks for the giveaway! - regnod(at)yahoo(d0t)com
ReplyDeleteI think that I am one of those people who really don't pay much attention to either the picture or the description of the hero too much. I tend to picture the heroes all tall, dark, & handsome (no matter how they are described). I guess it is because they are my favorite types of guys. But if they have a scar or something mentioned, I do tend to add that to my visual image.
ReplyDeletemanning_j2004 at yahoo dot com
congrats on the release!
ReplyDeletecatherine0807 at hotmail dot com
No wonder you have flames at the top of this website. LOL
ReplyDeleteAfter looking @ the pics & reading your post, I think I need to toss my hot coffee & get some ice water! Yes, the covers give me a mental image to carry throughout the book. But I love guys who are vulnerable & not too macho to admit or show it. Thank you for participating in this awesome blog hop!
JessieL62@comcast.net
Hot covers!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway!

ReplyDeleteI love the characters on the covers!
ReplyDeletesqwalker2@hotmail.com
First, congratulations on your book release.
ReplyDeleteI'll admit that book covers are the first thing to capture my attention, the blurb is second. There are some books with really fabulous covers, and I never got into the story like I had hoped. The reverse is also true though. Some covers look like there was no effort made to showcase the book to it's best potential, yet the story rocked. So the saying does hold true, not to judge a book by its cover. I'm pretty uncompromising when it comes to book covers - I will not give a book a second glance if the cover features 3D/digitally created characters. That just looks really cheap and tacky. The other one would be covers that have been photoshopped to death - if every last nook and cranny has been filled with characters (most common among stories that feature one woman and four men). That's also pretty tacky.
msromanticreads(at)gmail(dot)com
Initially, the cover is what I go from when I'm imagining characters that I read about. However, as books go on, it seems that my mind makes the characters look however it wants them to. As long as the hero looks appealing, either on the cover or in my mind, it's all good with me.
ReplyDeleterobin.christofaro@yahoo.com
The cover rules, count me in .

ReplyDeleteCaity_mack@yahoo dot com
Book covers are the first basis but that's where it stops - usually I base it on the story and how the characters are described. Thanks for the opportunity.

a hot body totally helps. you want something to pull you in and a hot bod does it all the time for me

ReplyDeleteThank you for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteJesscaashley(at)yahoo(dot)com
I love great covers, but I have to admit the picture of the hero develops as I read the story, based on what he "sounds" like. :)
ReplyDeleteCovers are important in helping set the characters
ReplyDeletein my mind. A cover tells so much about the story.
Upsets me terribly when the cover the description
in the book do not match!

I do not pay much attention to the cover; I let my imagination do all the work. angelacisco79(at)yahoo(dot)com
ReplyDeleteScore! Comment 69. :) Sweet.
ReplyDeleteI like reading for a while and then figuring out from the story how the cover came to be. This doesn't work with every book, obviously, but it's fun when it does!
The guy with the ice on his neck jump started my imagination! smwr324 at yahoo dot com
ReplyDeleteRemedy Maker sounds awesome, Sheri! Love that inspiration man of yours. And yes, I'm a total sucker for a sexy cover image. LOL.

I love good covers, but still tend to let the images develop as I get to know the characters and the story better.
ReplyDeletefeathermaye at gmail dot com

ReplyDeleteshadowluvs2read(at)gmail(dot)com
