Because I own braggin' rights, I'm sharing with you.
Winter Snow
The Winter snow trudges and stumbles along,
Dragging with it the Winter breeze.
He lets enough loose to make a nice little breeze,
But sometimes his mittened hand slips and the bag is dropped,
Sending huge winds across the land.
He picks it up as soon as it fell,
And stumbles and trudges to another land.

This is just great! I love seeing how children create through their own worlds. Awesome job!
ReplyDeleteThank you, DX. I never knew he wrote poetry before he plopped these on my desk. I can't wait to see what's next!
DeleteGreat stuff! Love a young mind. WTG buddy :)
ReplyDeleteThe Spawn says thanks. At least I think one grunt means thank you...or is that two grunts?
DeleteVery nice! I like the poem a lot!
ReplyDeleteMethinks he inherited his mother's talent. Great job!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sharon! I hope he inherited my husband's brain. That and talent will keep me fed in my old age. LOL
DeleteTHERE, is going to be one heartbreaker when he grows up! He'll win the girls with words. I love the superhero one :)
ReplyDeleteHi Melodie! Thanks for coming by. He's been lecturing me about poems that don't rhyme. I guess it's a form of art, one that he prefers. Guess I always preferred ditties. Ones like: There once was a man from Kentuckett...
DeleteOMG! Those are inspired! So simple and real. You have a little poet! Love them!
ReplyDeleteHey Kary! Happy book launch day to you!! (karyradar.com) hehehe Kids have a way of peeling away the unnecessary to find the heart of truth. Too bad the truth isn't as easy to peel out of them! LOL
DeleteLOVE IT. Off to tweet this. It's jewel.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Karen. This is definitely going in my file to keep...and embarrass him with when he's older and brings a date to the house! Heheheh
DeleteChildren will always surprise you--and what a surprise! These are wonderful, Sheri. I love the Winter Snow one--I could see the personification of Old Man Winter trudging across the Plains states. He's got his mother's way with words for sure!
ReplyDeleteIt really was a surprise. Especially since we live in an area of California that NEVER snows! It was 98* today...how can the kid write about snow?? Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteHoly doodle, Trav! These are flippin' fantastic. And I love the pics, lol. You are seriously one talented dude!
ReplyDeleteHey, here's my attempt.
The ants go marching two by two, ha ra, ha ra.
The ants go marching two by two, ha ra, ha ra.
The aunts go marching two by two, the little ones stop to take a...lol, now you fill in the last word. Hint, it rhymes with two.
...the little one stop to take a CORKSCREW and open a bottle of wine for YOU! LOL Okay, so maybe the Spawn didn't make that rhyme up. But he's in bed now. LOL Thanks Brendan!
DeleteIt's in the GENES! Wonderful that you have a writer coming along. Tony and I are both writers and we have four spawns and the only one who showed ability, has another career. Way to go little guy!
ReplyDeleteThis is his first try at writing a poem (that I know of) that didn't start with Roses are Red. I hope he does find the joy of writing that I do and cultivates it throughout his life. It must be nice to talk "shop" in your house, Leanore.
DeleteBad guy fighting people! That is awesome!
ReplyDeleteGuess I should have hyphenated "fighting-people", otherwise it turns the meaning around. LOL Thanks for coming by!
DeleteOh how neat he's showing a love for words. Two artists under one roof! :)
ReplyDeleteDana
He loves his words. I think he came out of the womb blabbing.
DeleteLove it...and love the pictures that go along with it.
ReplyDeleteThanks Christine. The pics are so precious to me. I have Banker Boxes where I s tore the really special items the kids have created. But I think these might go in frames on the wall.
DeleteFantastic, Sheri. He's got some real talent! Congratulations to you, Mom!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Ella. I wonder where he'll be in ten years...
DeleteAwww LOVE it!! Your boys are so talented (just like mama)! Can't wait to see what they will become!
ReplyDeleteWhile I can wait, time won't wait for me. I feel so very blessed. Thanks, Bulldog!
DeleteHa, that's so flipping cool! He's getting his creativity from his mama. :)
ReplyDeleteI'd like to think so, Melissa. But his math skills come from the Hubs.
