Before I wrote Remedy
Maker, my thoughts of mythic romance ran along the lines of Hercules
and his many loves. Or the most notorious love affairs of Poseidon, when he
pursued his sister, Demeter.
To tell the truth, I can’t name
just one Mythic romance as a favorite of mine. There are levels of steamy
emotions in the ancient fables, and obstacles the lovers had to overcome in
order to be with one another.
But there was never a Happily
Ever After!! And that’s the backbone of any romance!
I wanted – NO! Needed – a Mythic story with an
HEA. And if I couldn’t find it in the eight century author Hesiod, or in the
genius of Homer, then I’d have to create it myself.
Which I did, then I gave it my
own little spin — I placed my mythic characters in our present day world — and
created a story unlike anything I’ve ever read before.

a Boronda
Forest Wood Nymph who is living on borrowed time. She’s sick, and knows she’s
dying, but there is so much left unanswered in her life —like where's her missing
sister.

Love the concept - the cover - the book
ReplyDeleteWhy I love Alpha Males is no real surprise! The perfect Alpha Male for me could be a Vampire, a Scottish Laird, an English Rogue/Gentleman, a Werewolf or Shape-shifter, or a Knight. He’s the rogue who thinks he can’t be reformed into a gentleman. He’s the rough and scarred Scottish laird that has a heart of gold. He’s the werewolf or shape-shifter that needs to heal an aching heart because it took him years to find his true mate. He’s the vampire who has waited decades for that special someone’s blood to sing to him and wake him up. And he’s the knight who can defeat the enemy with a quick swing of his sword, but can’t see the love in front of his face. My Alpha Male has eyes that can see into your soul and are as blue as the sea, or as black as a storm. He’s tall and brooding. His heart can enfold you into its grasp and make you fall in love when he gives it to you freely and completely. He is protective and passionate. In the end he is the one that makes your heart jump and butterflies fly in your stomach, and still kiss you until your legs melt!

What I look or in an alpha male (only in books and television for me though!) is self confident, strong, sexy, and sarcastic! Yep I am easy to please. The only alpha in my real life is my ferocious four pound Pomeranian, Cosmos. :)

An Alpha Hero would have all the usual tributes one would expect from an Alpha.. Strong, Sexy, Tall, etc. etc. But he would also be intelligent, have a great sense of humor, hard working, definitely one who would go after what or who he wants. Very protective of what he considers his.. family, friends, the woman he wants... A no nonsense taker, confident, passionate and compassionate (even if the compassionate side of him is rather hidden inside him). Oh I could go on and on...

What does an Alpha look like to me?
ReplyDeleteSo hard to answer - different Alpha heroes appeal to me in different books. In regards to physical appearance of the hero, I like muscles (not huge body-builder types though), strength, intelligent looking eyes, rugged (can be handsome, but not too pretty-boy handsome). In personality, I like him to be confident, take-charge, be protective, intelligent, and love his lady. I love me me some shifter guys too!

Alpha males are the best….strong, independent, fiercely protective, but on the inside they are nothing but a big ol’ teddy bear! I love the way their mouths talk filthy, but their eyes portray their sensitive sweet. They can be rough and tough in the bedroom, but still have the gentle caress of an attentive and protective lover. It's all in the heart.....alpha males are the best!
